The last thing I want to be doing during a holiday gathering is worrying. Especially worrying about serving food to guests and keeping my eye on everything to get it ready at the same time.
The idea of a dinner board has absolutely changed my life. And my favorite one is this super easy and flavor packed pita and kebab version.
I indulge in all the heavy and rich foods during the holiday season (who doesn’t?). So, the idea of switching things up and serving up something slightly healthier and veggie filled between all the Christmas chocolates and goodies is just what I need!

Editor's Note: The biggest trick to making this the easiest assembly ever? Elevating your store bought ingredients.
For the pitas: brush with melted garlic butter and keep warm in the oven until ready to serve.
For the hummus: add some extra lemon juice and drizzle over some good olive oil with paprika and/or red pepper flakes for some extra flavor.
For the tomatoes: During the winter it can be hard to find good and sweet tomatoes, so just toss any you find in the oven and roast with olive oil, salt and pepper, to concentrate their sweetness and flavor.
Editor's Note: This is the easiest board to serve up for both your vegetarian and meat-eating friends. I went with easy Vegetable Skewers like these, but if you wanted to serve up lamb or chicken, that would be wonderful too. Most kebab recipes can be made in the oven, which during the winter is an easy way to bring a little bit of grilling season into the cold months.
For the skewers: Soak your bamboo skewers in water to avoid having them burned in the oven. Add your cubed veggies onto the bamboo skewers and roast in the oven at 400 degrees for 15 minutes. Rotate the skewers and place back in the oven for an additional 15 minutes.
For the roasted garlic: Slice the top 1/4 off of a head of garlic so that the cloves are exposed, but still in tact. Place in a sheet of foil, drizzle with olive oil, and wrap with the foil. Place on your sheet tray with the kebabs and roast. Once they're done, the garlic becomes all sweet and savory and is so delicious spread on a pita with some hummus.
For easy prep and serving: Fill up small serving bowls with all the sauces and dips, cube up your feta, and prep the salad ahead of time. Just keep them covered and place onto the board right before serving. This board comes together so fast and the flavors will have everyone raving.
That is the best-looking entertaining idea I’ve seen all season! Would love to be at a party where that spread appeared.
We couldn’t agree more! It’s so easy and delicious!
This looks SO yummy! I will have to try it this holiday season! xo, Camilla
