Because mint and chocolate together is never a bad idea. This may be the most guilt-free way to enjoy the two: in a green smoothie that will serve and lift you up in the hours that follow it. Chocolate Green Smoothies

Chocolate Green Smoothie

Ingredients
- ½ fresh or frozen banana
- 2 cups spinach
- 15 mint leaves
- 2 tablespoons cocoa nibs or 2 teaspoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½ medium zucchini, roughly chopped
- 2 pitted dates
- 1 scoop clean protein powder (optional; see note on page 138)
- 1 cup ice
- Cinnamon or cocoa powder, for topping (optional)
Instructions
- Add all of the ingredients for your chosen smoothie, except for the ice, to a blender.
- Blend until well combined.
- Add the ice and continue to blend until smooth.
- Serve cold, topped with cinnamon or cocoa powder, if desired.
Coffee Chocolate Green Buzz Smoothie
Ingredients
- 1 cup cold brewed coffee
- 2 tablespoons cocoa nibs
- 1 frozen banana
- 3 cups spinach
- ¼ cup Homemade Nut Milk (page 42)
- or milk of your choice
- 1 cup ice
- Cinnamon or cocoa powder, for topping (optional)
Instructions
- Add all of the ingredients for your chosen smoothie, except for the ice, to a blender.
- Blend until well combined.
- Add the ice and continue to blend until smooth.
- Serve cold, topped with cinnamon or cocoa powder, if desired.
Note: You can substitute stemmed kale leaves for the spinach in either recipe.
I’ve often wondered if I could spice up my regular green smoothie with chocolate!
Now I have the proper inspiration to give it a go though I suspect it will end up looking a bit like swamp water lol.
